Riteish Deshmukh in Bank Chor

New Delhi: Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi’s latest film Bank Chor, which opened to poor reviews last Friday, collected Rs 1.28 crore on Sunday (Day 3), reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film, directed by Bumpy, stars Riteish as Champak Chandrakant Chiplunkar, a thief, who decides to stage a heist. Vikram Thapa and Bhuvan Arora play Riteish’s accomplices. The trio (amateur robbers) decide plan a bank robbery. Vivek Oberoi plays inspector Amjad Khan, who is officially assigned to catch them. Bank Chor earned around Rs 3 crore over the weekend. Its current total now stands at Rs 4.34 crore. Actress Rhea Chakraborty co-stars with Riteish and Vivek in Bank Chor while Sahil Vaid and Baba Sehgal are also a part of the comedy film.

Here’s Bank Chor‘s box office collection so far, as reported by Taran Adarsh.

In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Bank Chor 1.5 stars out of 5. “Bank Chor is a wasted opportunity. It doesn’t raise as much as a mild chortle, let alone a hearty chuckle. Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi’s film is a chore to watch. It falls way, way short of being either riveting or side-splitting. Bank Chor tries overly hard to be funny but it isn’t as smart as the makers think it is,” Mr Chatterjee wrote in the review.

Bank Chor is produced by Yash Raj Film’s subsidy Y-Films. Riteish and Vivek have earlier co-starred with each other in all the three films of the Masti franchise.

Bank Chor released with Hollywood films Despicable Me 3 and Cars 3.
