The film is already huge, thanks to the mega stars featuring in 2.0 – Rajinikanth as the lead and Akshay Kumar as the antagonist. Reports now suggest that the producers are already milking the star value of their actors as the distribution rights of the film for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone have been reportedly sold for a whopping Rs 80 crore..
A Deccan Chronicle report confirmed this: “Yes, we bought the rights for the Telugu version of the film and it is releasing in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” it quoted Narayan Das Narang of Asian Cinemas as saying.
Reportedly, the satellite rights for the film (all languages) have already been sold for a whopping Rs 110 crore.
Directed by Shankar, 2.0 is being shot in 3D and is produced by Lyca Productions. While double Oscar-winner AR Rahman has composed music for the film, popular cinematographer Nirav Shah is cranking the camera.
The film that also stars Amy Jackson is a sequel to Shankar’s hit film starring Rajinikanth, Robot.
