Fans throng theater watch baahubali trailer
The Baahubali franchise added more firsts to its credit on Thursday. If people flocked to theaters only to watch the two-and-a-half minute trailer, then the online response to the teaser was more than overwhelming. Within 24 hours after the Telugu version of the trailer was released by director S.S. Rajamouli and his team in the city, the number of views on YouTube crossed 1.4-crore mark by night. The director also tweeted that within an hour of the launch, a million views were recorded.
Movie-goers flocked to single-screen theaters across Telangana on Thursday to watch the trailer of Baahubali-The Conclusion. Nine single screens in the city screened the two-minute trailer between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Huge crowds were witnessed outside Sudarshan 35 mm at RTC Crossroads, Sri Ramulu at Moosapet and Mallikarjuna Brahmarambha at Moosapet. Quite a few excited fans were also seen thronging 41 theaters in Telangana where the trailer was released.
“We felt like we watched a movie on the first day,” said K. Vamshi, a college student outside one of the theaters in the city. “I am glad I watched the trailer in the theater. I will make sure I watch the movie on the day of its release.”
Mr. Rajamouli along with actors Prabhas and Rana held a press meet in the city before releasing the Hindi version of the trailer in Mumbai.
Mr. Rajamouli said he was not worried about the speculations related to the storyline doing rounds on the social media. The audience should expect more drama in the second edition along with interesting action sequences, he said. He said after the movie release on April 28, he wants to take a break and direct a regular film sans any visual effects.
